 Sacred Fire Ceremony

The full moon, or Purnima in Vedic tradition, holds a significant and potent energy that we love to weave in with the practice of Yagyas and Homas. It's a time when the lunar energies are at their peak, radiating a powerful influence on the Earth and all its inhabitants. Incorporating Yagyas with the full moon amplifies their intended effects and allows us to tap into this abundant celestial energy. At their heart, Yagyas involve a consecrated fire, Agni, which is considered a divine messenger as well as seeing the Fire as an extension of you, carrying our offerings and prayers to the celestial realms. This fire is kindled and Into this sacred blaze, we lovingly offer Samara, Ayurvedic Herbs, each imbued with symbolic meaning and energetic properties. These offerings can include grains, seeds, herbs, clarified butter (ghee), and fragrant resins.

We accompany these sacred offerings with powerful vibrations of Vedic mantras. These are not just words, but potent sounds. Sanskirt resonates with specific frequencies in the universe, invoking divine energies and creating a positive and transformative atmosphere and when we chant Sanskrit the sounds are alive within us. Yagyas are powerful purifiers, cleansing the environment – the air, water, and even the subtle energetic atmosphere – of impurities and negativity. The smoke emanating from the sacred fire, infused with the properties of the offerings, have antimicrobial and air-purifying effects. Yagyas are potent catalysts for spiritual evolution. The focused intention, the sacred sounds, and the act of selfless offering can deepen one's connection with the divine, fostering inner peace, clarity, and a sense of purpose. The act of offering in a Yagya, performed with devotion and without attachment to results, is believed to help in dissolving negative karmas and creating positive imprints on the consciousness.
